We are interactive installationists, using large base populations for experiments into human behaviour.
We continually strive for new solutions to old problems limiting social well being and happiness.
M8 stages mass public experiments into social intervention.
Recent experiments have included BDO 1995's Piecekeeping Force (MASSIVE EIGHTJ and the early Proto-Aggressive Sorties.
1996 M8 advances and unveils Micro Eight Nanotech™ : a transportable self-building, self-replicating chemical and biophysics installation.
A day long demonstration of Nanotech technology will be conducted at BIG DAY OUT SYDNEY 25/1 and at BIG DAY OUT MELBOURNE 28/1.
DREAM™, WASP™ and ELIXIR™ nanites will be manufactured.
They service our goals of sustainable happiness, pleasure and fun for a 30 □□□+ population.
NANITE PRODUCTION
DREAM™ nanites are designed to hardwire your most pleasurable experiences and memory to the frontal-lobe. Result: happiness void of action all day long.
WASP™ nanites will build the housing incubator for self-replicating nano-cloning process.
ELIXIR™ nanites are designed to prolong life and will compliment the dream nanites. Some techno-elixir to keep the carbon based life form around well into the next millenium. Produced at quantity in the M8 Hydro-IM a no-Dam, we work immortality into the equation.
NANITE PRODUCTION - SELF REPLICATION
Producing nanite robots at required quantities is achieved exposing a jelly-like material to extreme pressure. The jelly contains the source nanite (which is cloned], the base compounds and proteins used to construct the nanite clones, and catalysts. The extremely high pressure is contained by the WASP™ nanite membrane.
The instability of the membrane has been known to eject jellys 200m from the incubator.
Self-replication means exponentional nanite production: first 1 then 2,4,8,16,... 1030 is achieved after just 100 replication cycles.
Once initiated, production cannot be halted until supply of raw compounds is exhausted.
Therefore very stringent security, isolation and safety measures are taken at every level of Micro Eight Nanotech™ operations.

Complete control over the structure of matter 'Nano' - a prefix meaning one billionth
At the frontiers of biatech. designer DNA is already well underway.
A logical extension is the construction of complete genomes and then of course
custom organisms, including genetic enhancement of human beings.
Wanotcchnology will make this infinitely more efficient: nanite could be designed to interact with genetic processes on the molecular level.
Wanotechnology will be able to manufacture almost any chemically stable structure at low cost.
Molecular constructions consisting of hundreds or thousands of atoms per component can be assembled and reassembled to fulfil an almost infinite variety of molecular-scale construction tasks. Allowing construction of new compounds and reconstructing the biochemical components of life itself.
Nanite could be designed to chemically communicate with each other and respond to cues in the body.
Since molecules with specific reaction sites can be synthesised. virtually any biochemical task in the body could be accomplished.
Components can be constructed into microassemblies for injection / implant in body for various repair and maintenance.
Different nanite species can interact with each other, assembling, reassembling, depending on their chemical messages. Nanite components could reside anywhere or everywhere, and be able to form larger organisms as needed.
With future developments boundaries between organic and inorganic cell objects will become ever more diffuse.
Its existence relies on self-replicating assemblers - virus sized, computer controlled man-made robots that can assemble whatever molecule you want - from molecular scale computers to self assembling machines.
